The Devil's Undercover Agents, Part 1.

"For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ," Jude 1:4.

The word "crept in unawares" (it is only one word in the Greek original), is a compound of two words, one of which is linked to the setting of the sun, Mark 1:32, Lk 4;40. That gives us a picture of the stealth with which these men work and also the consequences of their entrance into the church.

How often that which is to man's hurt advances by "creeping"!

Two alien plants are creating great havoc in the British countryside and in other lands also of which they are not native. They are Giant Hogweed and Japanese Knotweed. They were introduced in the late 1800s because someone thought them ornamental. They have become a plague! Hogweed cause great suffering to those who come into contact with its spines while Knotweed's roots will destroy the foundations of buildings. They are nigh on impossible to eradicate and are proving very expensive to control. In Australia it is illegal to have Knotweed on your property!

These things I say to draw attention to yet another wonderful illustration of divine truth in nature. Evil is so like these noxious plants.
