Only voice that needs to be heard in UlsterRev. Ivan Foster2 Chronicles 7:14Sun Sep 5, 2004 · Sunday - PM
Few Christians would dispute the fact that our land is sick. Its sinews and spirit has been greatly corrupted by a plague of wickedness and the stench of death hangs in the air. There is little or no place for decency in our society. Such developments will and must have a consequence for the nation. The law of God cannot be abandoned without serious consequences. If that is not the case, then obedience to God is pointless and utterly unprofitable. That we will not accept. The routine of wickedness and corruption which daily dominates the activities of our land is a direct consequence of the corruption within. As the ravings of a sweat-soaked patient in bed is indicative of the fever raging within, so the murder, robbery, anarchy, filthiness -- the whole panoply of crime reports that fill our newspapers, is indicative of a great fever raging within the body politic of our nation. Our text reads like a physicians report to a patient, a diagnosis and means of curing their ills. It is what is said here by the Lord that above all needs to be considered by those engaged in talks regarding the future governance of our land. I have a feeling that, in truth, one man alone will be thinking of such truths as these. The rest of those engaged in these talks will be, I feel, be very much relying upon their own political skills and that most confidently! Let us consider these words in our text.
