Healing of Bartimaaeus (Preached in Gilford FPC) "And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging," Mark 10:46. The Saviour's work is almost done. He is travelling this road for the last time. Such circumstances add significance to this encounter between the blind man and the Saviour. Calvary must have weighed heavily upon His mind but He still had time to answer the cry of a blind beggar. Israel was full of beggars. There cry was incessant. Yet this man's cry was heard and answered. Christ's ministry of healing was intended to announce Him as the great Physician of the soul so we may use this event to present Him as such.
