THE HONOUR OF HOLINESS, Pt 1 (Read 16-19, 28:1-14) "And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments; and to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken," Deuteronomy 26:18-19. These words were spoken by the Lord to His ancient people Israel and that must never be forgotten or ignored. However, they have an application to us as converted Gentiles. As we know, as a judgment against Israel for her rejection of her Messiah, God turned for a time to the Gentiles to take out a people for Himself. At a future time, the Lord will turn Israel back to Himself as was stated by Simeon in Luke 2:32. "A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel." There is a day of glory yet for Israel following the time of "lightening" or the time of instruction and disclosure of truth to the Gentiles. I wish to apply these words to us as Gentile believers today.
