Plain gospel preaching or bully boy tactics.

Message preached in Kilskeery FPC by Rev Ivan Foster at the evening service on 25th October 1987.

"If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained," 1 Timothy 4:6.

(Sermons preached in former years in Kilskeery Free Presbyterian Church against national apostasy. Preaching the message of salvation through faith alone, in Christ alone, by grace alone must ever be coupled and joined with earnest contending for the faith against the lies and errors of the devil and his agents.)

The Free Presbyterian Church was accused back in October 1987 of "bully boy tactics" and "scaremongering" by Methodist ministers when it dared to challenge their participation in and defence of a joint Methodist/Roman Catholic conference which supposedly examined the spiritual kinship of John Wesley and Alphonsus Liguori. This sermon examines the character of the ministry of a "good" New Testament minister and shows that the FPC exposure and contention against Methodist apostasy bears the marks of a faithful New Testament gospel ministry. Unfortunately, the recording ends just before the sermon is complete though the main substance of the message is recorded.
