"He will swallow up death in victory," Isaiah 25:8. This statement is set in the midst of a prophesy of the return of Christ and the impact upon Israel the nation as well as the whole earth. It is the day longed for by the people of God, verse 9. It is on that day that death will be swallowed up in victory by our blessed Redeemer. This may be seen by the apostle Paul's use of this verse in 1 Cor 15:54. This denotes the end of a long battle. No believer will ever again be subject to death's control.
