WHO & WHAT of an Awakened SoulQuestions of Enlightened SoulRev. Ivan Foster · Sunday - PMActs 9:5-6 · Sun Jun 1, 2008
"And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do," Acts 9:5-6. These two questions provide windows through which we may view the innermost soul of Saul of Tarsus and observe the workings of the Holy Spirit within this erstwhile persecutor of God's people. The questions of Saul were in response to the Saviour's challenge, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?" verse 4. It is to be noted that the Saviour, Who never complained of men's attacks upon His person, complains when it is His people who are attacked. This brief but life-changing conversation between Saul and the Saviour and the questions Saul asks is the subject of our meditation this evening.
