The subject of the psalmist's prayer is the chief subject of all. The pardoning of our sins ought to occupy our thoughts chiefly and ever until we know that we have obtained pardon from the Lord. Our eternal wellbeing depends upon us obtaining pardon. Unpardoned, we can only go to hell whereas the pardoned soul is assured of eternal glory in the presence of the great God. This is a model prayer request. It is one we would do well to adopt and use until we have an answer from God to it.
