Looking for the daybreakRev. Ivan FosterSong of Solomon 2:17Sun May 4, 2003 · Sunday Service
What a sweet verse this is! It has a perfume that answers exactly the desires of our hearts, the needs of our souls. I was reminded of it by seeing it upon a grave stone in Lisnaskea parish church graveyard, that was upon the grave on one, Archibald Noble. He died in the late 19th century. He undoubtedly was a believer if the markings on his grave stone are to be believed for this was but one of three texts of Scripture engaved there. I came upon it twice again in my daily reading a few days ago. I thought that I was being told that I should take it up as a text. This verse expresses the Christian's desires for the return of Christ and an escape from this world of darkness and shadow.
