Since the beginning of the new school year in September 2015, Rev Foster has been speaking at two morning assembly meetings each week. His theme for 2015-16 is DV, "Pictures of Christ in the Bible." Tenth Picture - Joshua Joshua 3:14-17 Under him the river Jordan was divided. Joshua 3:14-17. It speaks of the experience of the Christian when they reach the river of death. It is good to know about death and what it means for the Christian. It is something that all of us should be informed of, including children who are saved. We want to add a few thoughts to what we said last time. The victory of the precious blood is highlighted here. "Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man. And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap." Joshua 3:12-13 When the Saviour died at Calvary, it was at the very time of year that Jordon overflowed its banks - Passover time. The Saviour stepped into the fulness of God's wrath and made a way for us to Heaven. We need not fear death for the sprinkled blood, the finished work of redemption at the cross, has opened a way for us. David speaks of the confidence of the saint when facing death. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me," Psalm 23:4. The Saviour escorts every one of His saints over the river and into the presence of God.
