Christ putting down rebellion during the Millennial Reign Psalm 2 and Daniel 2:44. Scripture makes it plain that wicked men will resist Christ when He begins His reign. "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever," Daniel 2:44. It is clear from these words that Christ will not be welcome everywhere. However, opposition to Christ's rule will not be tolerated as it is today! Christ will employ force He employs to conquer. Ps 2. The rebelliousness in verses 1-3 is still there when Christ comes to reign, verse 6-9. He will 'break' them and 'dash them in pieces'. "For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted," Isaiah 60:12. (See 1-16). It reminds me of that which follows conversion in our own experience. There is opposition still to Christ within every Christian. "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would," Galatians 5:17. As Christ in the true believer gives victory over sin so, in a more wonderful way, He will conquer the enemy in the millennial earth.
