Final of three messages preached at a Bible Conference in Zurich, Switzerland, March 22nd-23rd. Our duty is summed up in one word, "contend." What is it we must contend for? "The faith." It is the doctrines of the gospel. It is that which is set down by Luke in his gospel. "Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us," Luke 1:1. It is the revelation that God has given us of His person, power, purpose and promises. It is the Bible we must contend for. It is that which Paul told Timothy to hold on to. "Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me. That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us," 2 Timothy 1:13-14.
