In the wake of the recent election in which the people of Ulster very largely voted for a form of government which entails placing those guilty of involvement in murder and terrorism in government, let us look at God's Word. For a land which has been so favoured by God it is heart-breaking to see a body of elected representatives without one person who plainly stood against the IRA in government. For many, this position is altogether contrary to the political principles they publicly and loudly espoused for many years. Furthermore, those who now hold this new position, in the recent past castigated most vociferously any who held to the position that they themselves have now adopted!! The degree of deceit and political somersaulting that has gone on in Ulster is almost overwhelming in its magnitude. Such activities cannot and will not go unjudged. Of that I am certain. There will be consequences for those who have advocated this new path and for those who, in their folly, followed their advice. What form that harvest will take I do not know but a harvest there will be! Tonight, we look at a decision by people which I believe has sad similarities. I refer to the choosing of Barabbas over Christ.
