Since the beginning of the new school year in September 2015, Rev Foster has been asked to speak at two morning assembly meetings each week. His theme for 2015-16 is DV, "Pictures of Christ in the Bible." Seventh Picture of Christ - Joseph Genesis 42:7-24 The prophecy came true and he was a source of life for many. We are coming to the most dramatic part of the story of Joseph. Meeting with his brothers, Joseph is reminded of his dreams and he understands the purpose of God and later, when he is made known to them, he explains the wonderful purpose of God in all their evil actions. "And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance," Genesis 45:7. All that his brethren had done, though sinful and inexcusable, was in the plan of God to save His people. "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive," 50:20. Here is another verse which states this same truth. It is found in the prayer of the church in the midst of the persecutions recorded in the Acts of the Apostles. "For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, for to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done," Acts 4:27-28. God is able to turn even the evil intentions of men to the furthering of the gospel and His merciful purpose in Christ.
