Since the beginning of the new school year in September 2015, Rev Foster has been asked to speak at two morning assembly meetings each week. His theme for 2015-16 is DV, "Pictures of Christ in the Bible." Eighth Picture of Christ Moses - a Prophet who foreshadowed Christ None of the Old Testament persons could claim a greater likeness to Christ than Moses. "The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken," Deuteronomy 18:15. There are many similarities between Moses and the Saviour which I would like to point out. I should state that no person would ever say that "Christ was like them" whereas all believers would wish "to be like Christ." The words of our text were put in the mouth of Moses by divine inspiration for he would not dare to speak of this likeness of himself. Such prophecies prove the divine origins of the Bible. Wicked men have tried to suggest that in the past efforts have been made to contrive a fulfilling of prophecy but a little thought will show just how impossible it would be to arrange the fulfilling of such details as are given in the prophetic Scriptures. The parallels between Moses and Christ could not have been humanly arranged. 1. Circumstances of their birth - Born into a land of bondage. "And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed," Luke 2:1. The Saviour's birth was that of a slave under the rule of Rome as the decree of Caesar clearly indicates.
