(THE WRONG AUDIO FILE WAS ORIGINALLY MOUNTED BUT THAT HAS BEEN CORRECTED AS OF 23.00 PM (GMT) MONDAY 10TH JAN, '05. REV. IVAN FOSTER.) It is to be expected that those who reject the Word of God as the only rule of faith and practice should see in the Asian disaster an opportunity to attack God. The Archbishop of Canterbury is reported in the Telegraph of 2/1/05 as saying: "Wouldn't we feel something of a chill at the prospect of a God who deliberately plans a programme that involves a certain level of casualties?." This statement indicates the utterly ignorance of the so-called "spiritual leaders" of the nation regarding God, His person and His purpose. Without a shadow of a doubt, God reveals that He has planned "a programme that involves a certain level of casualties"! I have no doubt that amongst the victims of the Asian disaster were those who the people of God. They were not visited by judgment. Their death will one day be fully explained and it will be seen that they in their death, served the all-wise purpose of God. But most of those that perished were living in defiance of God and thus brought upon their heads His just retribution. The Bible tells us that such visitations of wrath will mark the approach of the great and terrible day of God's wrath. The chapter before us deals with those very events.
