CENTRAL TO THE RETURN OF CHRIST IS THE CONVERSION OF ISRAEL As we have already noted, many wonderful things will take place upon the Lord's return. Christ was always a busy, business-like Servant. "And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?" Luke 2:49. "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him," Acts 10:38. So it will be on His Day - the Day of the Lord. We return to one of the first of the events of that glorious Day. THE CONVERSION OF ISRAEL We have considered how that Israel returning to their land was a sign of the approach of the end of this age. They returned in unbelief but at the return of Christ they will be converted. 1. In Romans 11:12, 15, Paul speaks of their 'fall' and 'diminishing' and their 'casting away' but he also speaks of their 'fulness', their 'receiving'. There is to be a restoration of Israel, a reversal of their present circumstances and a return to God's favour. He uses the gardener's method of grafting in a branch as an illustration of what God is going to do again with Israel, Rom 11:23-24.
