The 12th picture of Christ - Boaz 8. He was an efficient and a successful kinsman redeemer As we begin a new year, we continue our study of the likeness to Christ that is to be found in the story of Boaz and Ruth. * She has been treated kindly by Boaz when she came to glean in his fields and went home that day with quite a portion of barley. "So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean unto the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest," Ruth 2:23. That is about as much as she could carry. It was about what would feed a man for 10 days, Exodus 16:16, 36. * Naomi enquired where she had been to glean so much. 2:19. * When she hears that it was in the fields of Boaz she joyfully exclaims: "Blessed be he of the LORD, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen," 2:20. Now we see the wonderful working of God's mercy that brought Ruth to the attention of their 'kinsman redeemer'.
