Since the beginning of the new school year in September 2015, Rev Foster has been asked to speak at two morning assembly meetings each week. His theme for 2015-16 is DV, "Pictures of Christ in the Bible." Sixth Picture of Christ Isaac and Rebekah, Genesis 24. The meeting between the servant and Rebekah. Genesis 24:10-28. 1. Wonderful leading of God. Little did Rebekah know that she was about to encounter a man with a message that would change her life beyond her imagining! Nor did Abraham's servant know the wonderful part he would play in the outworking of God's eternal plan of redemption! Please note: 1. Prayer came first. "And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham," Genesis 24:12. How important prayer is boys and girls. You can never accomplish anything for God nor see any good come to you without prayer! 2. Please note the time and place of these events. "And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water," Genesis 24:11. The gospel well is ever the meeting place between the gospel messenger and the sinner at the end of the day. Every gospel meeting is convened around the wonderful well of salvation from which the water of salvation is drawn forth and offered. "Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation," Isaiah 12:3. An old day is about to end and a new day dawn! It is like it was with Zacchaeus. "And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham," Luke 19:9.
