The Christian seeks to stir up his heart with happy anticipation of what lies ahead of him. The ungodly man wishes to block from his mind the judgment to come. The central purpose of the gospel ministry is to bring God and His truth ever before the people, 2 Peter 1:12-13, 3:1. The devil and his agencies are engaged in aiding man forget, Jer 23:26-27. At this season of the year, under the guise of celebrating the birth of Christ, the nation will go further down the road of forgetting God. I repudiate all that men call "Christmas" as an abomination and a lie and I call upon you all to turn your back on all that pertains to its ungodly activities. Tonight I wish to speak of that day when all that sinners have sought to forget or ignore will take place before their eyes, verse 17. I was reminded of that day by the arrest of Saddam Hussein hiding in a hole in Iraq. What he did the world sniggered at but it will be repeated by men as they seek to escape the even more inescapable.
