Our Lord does not changeKICS Studies - Analysing Acts · part 3 of 7Rev. Ivan Foster · YouthActs 1:1 · Tue Sep 16, 2025

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,” Acts 1:1.

As I have been explaining in our studies so far, we are looking at this Book of the Acts because I believe that the world is returning to those days of darkness and ignorance of God’s Word. Such was the world into which the apostles went forth with the gospel.

Evidence of the returning back to those evil days is set before us if we have eyes to see!

That being the case:—

WE NEED TO LEARN THAT THE LORD IS TODAY AS HE WAS BACK THEN!

“For I am the LORD, I change not,” Malachi 3:6.

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever,” Hebrews 13:8.

1. The Christians back then were very much cast upon the Lord.

Acts 4:23-29.

2. The Lord intervened wonderfully for them. It was a special time with special gifts bestowed upon the apostles which passed away with their demise BUT, there was the help of God given in answer to prayer that we may still expect today.

A. The Conversion of Saul (Paul) which brought great relief. Acts 9:31.

B. The judgment of Herod also brought relief from persecutions. Acts 12:21-24.

C. Paul and his companions saved from the great storm. Acts 27:21-25.

3. All the time there was a consciousness of the glorious return of Christ. “Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began,” Acts 3:21.

This a central doctrine of the gospel and was the abiding hope of the people. It stayed them up amidst their difficulties.

It will do the same for us today. As the return of Christ strengthened the redeemed before the world-wide judgment of Noah’s flood, even so it will be in the latter days! Jude 14-15.

We need to study and become familiar with what the Bible says about Christ’s return!
