“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear,” Hebrews 11:3.
We come to our second study of FAITH as it is set forth here in this chapter.
The Bible does not teach ‘evolution’ as the means by which all that we see around and above us, came to be as we see it today. No, by faith ‘we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God.’ That means:
1. By an act of faith, we believe the record of the Bible. We should understand that the disciples of ‘evolution’ have, in a like manner, chosen to ‘believe’ the notions of Charles Darwin and those who have taken up his theory, amended it, altered it, allegedly corrected it, etc.
We, on the other hand, have taken God’s infallible Word as being true and accurate regarding the creation of all things.
2. The evidence of science and archaeology support the Bible’s account. I recall standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon, back some 30 years ago, and saw a little display, depicting the origins of the Grand Canyon is believed by a local American Indian tribe, that had long lived in that part of Arizona. Their understanding of its origins amounted to a rather garbled account of what we read in Genesis chapters 6-8. The Indian account referred to man, a big boat and a great flood. Time has distorted the record of the Indian’s belief in how the canyon was formed, but we can see the results of the divinely inspired account that we have in the Bible!
3. On the other hand, the records that have been uncovered by archaeology, contradict the notions of evolution. The Evolutionist would tells us that dinosaurs disappeared some 65 million years ago and man only first appeared on the earth 6 million years ago. Yet they have found fossilised footprints of a dinosaur with the footprint of a man inside it! Both walked the same muddy ground at the same time! Evolutionists try to disprove such findings, in the same way as they deny the Bible. But there is solid evidence that the Evolutionist’s timetable is in error.
I believe God speaks of the ‘dinosaur’ in His Word. Consider what we have in Job 40:15-41:10 and there we read of the great creatures. in Job’s day, which evolutionists say died out millions and millions of years ago!
4. The experiences of the Christian is such that they have personal evidence of the truth of God’s Word. The experiences of Christians of God’s saving mercy power in their lives provide abundant proof of God and his love. Matthew 27:54; John 20:30-31
