“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46.

THE SUFFERINGS OF THE SAVIOUR, Pt 3.

The sufferings of Christ for the sins of His people serves as a very vivid lesson of what lies ahead for the unbeliever. “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels,” Matthew 25:41. Cast out of God’s presence.

1. Even the most wicked are not forsaken of God while they live. “ . . The living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe,” 1 Tim 4:10. Much misunderstood verse. God’s mercy extends to all wicked men. “Your Father which is in heaven: . . . maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust,” Matthew 5:45. See Luke 22:50-51. Health, prosperity, food etc. Did not Judas enjoy the ‘5 loaves and 2 fishes like the rest of the disciples? So it is still through the idolatrous and rebellious world - men and women, boys and girls daily feast upon the bounty of God sent down from heaven.

2. But for the sinner that will all end at death. Eccles 8:11-12; Rom 2:4-6. Boys and girls take heed to this truth.

3. The fulness of being forsaken will follow the judgment of the Great White Throne. Rev 20:12-15.
