“LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?”

As we begin our study of another psalm, please notice just how much we owe to King David for “instruction in righteousness,” 2 Tim 3:16.

This Psalm 15 is a wonderful example of this. This psalm deals with a most vital and practical subject - walking with God as our friend.

Let us learn:

1. We may ask the Lord questions. The relationship the Christian has with the Lord is one of friendship and companionship. He is our best Friend to Whom we may go with all our troubles! “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Matthew 24:3. It is a mark of our fellowship with the Lord that we ask Him questions.

2. On all matters relating to holiness, it is to the Lord we should go. He has provided us ALL the answers we will ever need in His Word. We go to Him in prayer and then search the Word for an answer. “These (the Bereans) were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so,” Acts 17:11. Having heard Paul they then asked the Lord if what he said was correct and looked for an answer in God’s Word.

3. I think I should say that the Lord will answer all the sincere questions we bring to Him. He did not always answer those that questioned Him. “And went again into the judgment hall, and (Pilate) saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer,” John 19:9. (Matt 27:12, 14). Pilate’s motive in asking was very wrong. The earnest soul will ALWAYS be answered.

“I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place,” Psalm 118:5. So it is with all who call on the Lord. “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not,” Jeremiah 33:3.
