1. Such are the wonders of God’s mercy, even Paul did not have time to tell them all!

Paul realises that he is running out of time and must cease from naming individual heroes and heroines, and giving highlights and illustrations of their faith and start being more general in his comments before going on to list the great achievements of the faith of the saints of God who have gone before.

The number of the redeemed is very great! “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb,” Revelation 7:9-10. 

Boys and girls, the truth is EVERY true Christian is just such a champion! 1 John 2:12-13, 4:1-6, 5:4-5, 19.
