The Rev Ivan Foster continues to look at the circumstances around John the Baptist's death. We see that Herod called a feast for his own Birthday inviting his friends and providing entertainment. During the party a young girl dances for Herod and in his drunken state he promises her up to half his kingdom. After consulting with her mother, she asks for the head of John. Herod being a proud man sends for the head of John, even though he did not want to kill him. In this sermon we see the foolishness of pride, drink and lust.
