We considered just how it is that the Lord seeks to teach us of the approach of His return.

We talked a little of the swallows and the hawthorne tree and how they tell us summer is coming. Likewise the Lord has given us signs of the nearness of His return.

This is a subject very dear to the Saviour. That is evident in the many references that He makes to the His return.

Furthermore, it may be seen in the many references He had His prophets make to His return.

"Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began," Acts 3:21.

Note Peter says all of His 'holy prophets'! Just how important this subject is.

* We must watch for the signs given us be like unto the watchful householder as he guards his property against the thief, verse 43. Where there is danger we watch carefully! There is a danger that we may be carried away by carelessness and fail to rightly watch and wait for Christ's return.
