Since the beginning of the new school year in September 2015, Rev Foster has been asked to speak at two morning assembly meetings each week. His theme for 2015-16 is DV, "Pictures of Christ in the Bible." Seventh Picture of Christ Joseph - against whom no sin is recorded Genesis 37:1-4 To be like Christ in glory is the hope of every true believer. Psalm 17:15. 1 John 3:2. But even while we are here on earth we can reflect something of His likeness. "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord," 2 Corinthians 3:18. Joseph was one of only two men mentioned in the Bible against whom there is no record of sin. Daniel was the other. That does not mean that they did not sin for they undoubtedly did. But in this both men pictured for us the Sinless One, the Lord Jesus. "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him," 2 Corinthians 5:21. "Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth," 1 Peter 2:22. Joseph must have been tempted many times, not just the incident with Potipher's wife. He certainly must have been tempted to take revenge upon his brothers. But he did not. In this he was like the Lord Jesus. "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin," Hebrews 4:15. He is our Passover Lamb. He was without blemish, Exodus 12:5-6.
