Christians should prompt such questions of the world as that recorded in verse 9. Further more, we should be tutored in the glories of Christ to the same degree as the bride obviously was of her beloved here in this passage so that we can give a full answer to the world's questioning. See the great detail she is able to enter upon in setting forth the loveliness of Christ! It is to be noted that she starts with His face and moves downward to His feet and then returns to His countenance once again. It is in the face of Christ that the glories of His person shine forth brightest. "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ," 2 Corinthians 4:6. Were we able to arouse such questioning amongst the unconverted and then give a full response to such, we would see more of our unconverted friends recognising the wickedness of their own hearts and their need of Christ.
