Things concerning Himself. "Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself," Luke 24:25-27. (A message preached in Tyndale FPC in two parts at the morning and evening services.) This incident features the two disciples on the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus on the day of the Saviour's resurrection. They were joined by the Saviour but they did not know Him. We began our study on these verses this morning but we will continue it tonight. This morning we considered how that clearly the Saviour teaches these two disciples that: 1. He is featured in all the Scriptures from the beginning of time. We will continue by considering how: 2. What it is we should look for when we study God's Word. "Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory." The sufferings and the glory of Christ. 3. The impact of a right understanding of God's Word. 4. We need the help of the Saviour to understand the Scriptures. "He expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself."
