The 12th picture of Christ - Boaz Ruth 2:1. When we glean the information given us here about Boaz we discover a wonderful type of our Saviour. He was a man of great wealth. So it is with Christ. Famine will not hurt Him or any that look to Him. 'The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it,' Pro 10:22. The reason why the Lord is so rich is because He is the Creator and possessor of all things. ' In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made,' John 1:1-3. His riches have been made over to His people. 'For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich,' 2 Cor 8:9. Another passage that could be considered is: "Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways! I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries. The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever. He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee," Psalm 81:13-16.
